The three short novels in this new Western trio by loved author Max Brand tell the story of Joe Good and his struggle against the Altons, who control most of the ranch land in the valley of the Cronin Moutains around Fort Willow. When Joe's father, Vincent Good, is accused of attempted murder, he's executed by a posse made up of Alton's men. Joe is financed by Zeke Stevens, who has his own score to settle with the Altons. Along the way Joe gains another ally, Katherine Garnet, who was originally sought in marriage by Harry Alton.
