"Fat Ollie, a detective of the 88th Precinct, has just finished writing a novel about an unscrupulous detective much like himself and is en route to the copy shop when he gets a call. But when Ollie gets back to his car, he discovers his precious manuscript has been stolen. Hellbent on recovering his book and solving the murder, Ollie begins an investigation as singleminded as any he's ever conducted.
