Five little penguins flee from a seal, flying through the water, and find themselves in an innocent game of tag.

Jack and Annie travel to a monastery in the Swiss Alps where, with the help of St. Bernard dogs and magic, they seek the second of four special objects necessary to break the spell on the wizard Merlin's beloved penguin, Penny.

JACK AND ANNIE continue their quest for the secrets of happiness--secrets they need to save Merlin. This time, the Magic Tree House takes them to the one continent they haven't visited before: Antarctica! What can they hope to learn about happiness in such a barren place? Tacky the penguin adds his own unique touch to his team's routine at the Penguin Cheering Contest.

While awaiting a visit from the Emperor, a group of penguins fails to recognize their friend Tacky in the Emperor's clothes.

Tacky is not very helpful as Goodly, Lovely, Angel, Neatly, and Perfect plan and prepare for Halloween, turning their igloo into a haunted house and making treats, but while Tacky is finishing his costume something really frightening arrives, and only he can chase it away.

Goodly, Lovely, Angel, Neatly, Perfect, and Tacky are having a wonderful Christmas, complete with an unusual tree, when Tacky's odd behavior saves them from a group of hunters.

Elliot, a very proper young man, feels a kinship with the penguins at the aquarium and wants to take one home with him.
