Description
Major Lord John Grey must pursue two investigations in the London of 1757 that is his home: one into the sexual proclivities of the Honorable Joseph Trevelyan, who is betrothed to his cousin Olivia, by default his ward in the absence of his elder brother; and another at the direction of his regiment's Colonel into the death of a sergeant of the regiment who may have been a traitor and most certainly was a brute.
