Meanwhile, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli follow the Uruk-hai to save their comrades Merry and Pippin, entering the kingdom of Rohan, but when the Uruk-hai are ambushed by the riders of Rohan, the hobbits escape into Fangorn Forest. Aragorn and his companions, attempting to follow them, meet Gandalf, who then escorts them to Edoras, the citadel of the Rohirrim, where a confrontation is brewing with Saruman and his armies: the great battle for Middle Earth is about to start.
