It's the beginning of the California Gold Rush and spirited Caroline Frost leaves her East Coast comforts to pursue a handsome cavalry officer into the rugged wilds of the west.

Lady on a train: It's up to Deanna to sleuth out a murderer when she becomes the only witness to a crime happening in view of her train window. Drawing upon her fascination with mystery novels and the assistance of handsome writer Wayne Morgan, she quickly becomes entangled in a series of thrilling twists and turns.
