Episode one: From a tense stakeout, the scene flashes back to the troubled boyhood of Magnus Pym. After his father and mother disappear without explanation, Magnus discovers deceit as a tool for self-preservation.

Episode two: His father, Rick, enlists the now young adult Magnus to carry out a sensitive mission to Bern in the company of a beautiful woman. Circumstances force Magnus to stay on in Switzerland, where he furthers his education in the risks and rewards of espionage.
